Vamobility: Autos/SUVs
Covering righteous chariots of require to chariots of desire to chariots of fire to chariots for hire. From four-wheel dreamboats, carry-alls, 4-WDers of power and privilege—all to keep us motorvated and on the move— even as gas prices continue to rise…
Vamobiles:
So many roads to travel, so many ways to go: VamoSedans, VamoSports Cars, VamoSUVs. As to particulars, we will steer around and through a wide range of four-wheel vehicles, the various modes and means of traveling machines—roam ready and tailored/ergonomic rides. First concern on our checklist is the recent Chrysler Motors recall of thousands of its vehicle line for reported sticky cruise controls, which maintain or increase acceleration in the case of computer snafus or electrical shorts, only to be disengaged, Chrysler admits, with a sharp hit of the brakes.
Petrol/Internal Combustion:
In an era of clean, high-mileage models with electronics up the wazoo, for starters, slip behind the wheel of VamoSpritely smart wagons like a Mini Countryman/Clubman, Subaru Outback, Volvo c30 or Audi A3, if not a little Fit, Fiat, Smart, Scion iQ or Chevy Spark for the near around.
Size up with a Kia Soul, VW Tiguan/Touareg, Honda CR-V and Element, Q5 Audi, Kia Sorento/Sportage Nissan Murano or Subaru Impreza hatchback, etc.
Go the fuller SUV route with a Ford Edge/Explorer, Chevy Equinox, Isuzu Trooper, Acura MDX, Nissan Rogue, Toyota 4Runner, BMW X1-3, etc.
Beef up with a Chrysler Pacifica, Toyota Highlander, Honda Odyssey, Jeep Wrangler, or go luxe with a Lexus RX 350/450, Land Rover Discovery/Evoque, MBZ GLE/ML, Bently Crossover SUV while you’re poshing it.

Rough out royally with a Rover Defender 90, Toyota Versus/FJ Cruiser, MBZ GL550—or off-road it with a tricked out Jeep Renegade or Rubicon, etc. Then again, point toward even more hedonistic road trip ‘excursions’, with luxe appointments and accessories no end.
Otherwise, cruise the sportier route with a Mini John Cooper Works convertible, VW EOS 2.0 TSI, Chevy Camaro, Mazda MX5s, Beemer ragtops—on up to, gulp, Rover poptops, Lambo Huracon CCX’s, a Ford GTS, Ferrari 812s or Bugatti Chiron—anyway, we can dream on…
Hybrid/Electric Earthly Means:
As diesel power flags and falters amid smoke and emissions scandals, clean air vehicles become an ever larger presence on U.S. highways/byways and European thoroughfares.
Most promient today are the hybrids from Toyota (e.g., PriusV), Nissan Chevy, and a steady burgeoning of other, perhaps more super luxurious marques.
Beyond that, Tesla clearly leads the purely electric charge, particularly with its most recently released, more moderately priced Model 3. From Chevy Volt, Bolt EV and Audi Quattro to sportier entries by Porsche, Faraday, Fisker and NIO emerge amid environmental rebates, as well as a growing network of battery charging stations coast to coast and abroad.
This, with more hydrogen (e.g., Honda Clarity FC) models on the horizon. Soon to follow is the rapid development of robot and driverless vehicles, currently being tested by Audi (Aicon A.I.), Tesla (Model XP100D) and tech behemoths, from Google and Intel to Apple, CruiseTech and Uber/Lyft. The Kitty Hawk Flyer is even R&Ding a flying car, with Hyperloops and tubes close behind.
Niches and Accessories:
Then comes the showcase of legacy and classic rides in the the rearview mirror—garage restores to concourse ribbon champions.
Beyond specific vehicles, watch for on-timely previews and reviews of GPS units, onboard entertainment, light sensing technology and multitudinous maintenance accessories and travel/mobile enhancements…
Of course, these all are just the entry point of the Vamigré onramp…
